Using natural stone tile can be the perfect way to create a sense of luxury in your spaces.
When we want to upscale a space, we not only look for high quality products, but for interesting shapes, finishes, or sizes – just like what our friends at Decorative Materials have to offer.
Take a look at some projects we have worked on.
1. Create Interest
This home was a ranch style home in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, that lacked a distinct interior architecture. The entry had beautiful walnut flooring that carried throughout the home, but frankly, it did not feel special.

A dramatic transformation was made by combining the wood with a simple (well sealed) travertine stone tile. We liked it so much that we designed custom doors to complement the floor pattern and add character.
2. Create a Feeling of Luxury
This custom backsplash, with it’s combination of natural stone and brass, is the ultimate in luxury and not only works well with this natural quartzite countertop — it’s nice to put natural stone with natural stone — but adds a slick pattern to this midcentury modern kitchen making it feel luxurious.

In this less formal kitchen backsplash, the linear nature of the skyline stone tile is accentuated with the 90 degree herringbone pattern. Notice how the natural sandstone countertops help bring out the similar colors in the tile.

This single wall of stone tile completely transforms this small powder room adding character and texture.

3. Update and Sophisticate!
This master bath needed updating and this beautiful White Haze tile was the perfect solution. It has a slightly translucent quality that is soft and calming. I love this stone because it has some warm tones and creates interest with the linear nature of it. This tile helps reinforce the herringbone pattern on the floor.

Vanity upgrade: I am a huge fan of full height tile or stone in baths. It feels luxurious and lasting.
